Closed circuit television systems, or CCTV Systems, are often used in stores or other businesses as a theft deterrent but they are also very useful when properly installed in residential properties; homes, flats, care homes etc. They help provide protection to homeowners and let them record what is going on inside and around their property while they are away. There are several primary reasons why homeowners have them installed, from protection to safety and monitoring babysitters, staff or children.

One of the most popular ways of using a CCTV system in the home is placing a camera covering the front entrance. This allows the homeowner to see who is at their door before answering it. This can save time avoiding salesmen and provide additional safety from strangers or someone who may be there to cause trouble.

Many parents install a CCTV system so they can remotely check in on their teenagers whilst they are away (prevents Facebook house parties!). Once installed it allows the parent to review the activity which was going on in the home in their absence, however modern CCTV systems will now allow remote monitoring via smartphone apps. For parents with younger children they can have total peace of mind monitoring a babysitter or nanny from work to make sure they are providing the proper care for their children and add an additional layer of security for the home help and care workers.

There are many reasons that explain why the use of CCTV systems in residential homes is becoming more and more popular. Installation is straightforward and with minimum disruption and we can train you to use your new system very quickly with backup and aftercare.
